On March 13, 2026, the Babeeni Group team revisited Lang Nu Village, Phuc Khanh Commune, Lao Cai Province, a community that suffered devastating losses during Typhoon Yagi in September 2024. Nearly one year after Babeeni established a hand embroidery training program and workshop in the village, this meaningful visit allowed us to witness the remarkable transformation that has taken place.
Rising from the Aftermath of Typhoon Yagi
Nestled among the breathtaking mountains of northern Vietnam, Lang Nu was once a peaceful village where generations of families relied on farming and forestry for their livelihoods. However, when Typhoon Yagi struck in September 2024, it swept away not only homes and belongings but also the sense of security that the villagers had long cherished.
Deeply moved by these heartbreaking losses, Babeeni believed that meaningful support should extend beyond immediate relief. We wanted to help create sustainable opportunities that would empower local families to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence.
Planting the Seeds of a New Beginning
In April 2025, Babeeni launched a hand embroidery training program and established the Lang Nu Hand Embroidery Workshop, bringing a valuable traditional craft directly to the local community.
From their very first stitches, many women embraced the opportunity with determination. Today, they have become skilled artisans, creating exquisite handcrafted embroidery featured in Babeeni's children's garments exported to customers around the world.
After more than a year of operation, the workshop has become far more than a source of stable income. It has evolved into a place where confidence has been restored, friendships have flourished, and hope has been rekindled after one of the most difficult chapters in the village's history.
Reuniting with Babeeni's Hardworking "Golden Bees"
During the visit, the Babeeni delegation had the pleasure of reconnecting with our special colleagues—the dedicated women of Lang Nu who proudly work as members of Babeeni's embroidery team.
The gathering was filled with warm smiles, heartfelt conversations, and touching stories of resilience.
Many of the women shared that life before joining the embroidery workshop revolved around physically demanding farm work with uncertain and seasonal income. Since learning embroidery, receiving dedicated guidance from Babeeni's trainers, and securing stable employment close to home, their families' lives have changed significantly for the better.
One woman smiled warmly and said:
"This Lunar New Year was much warmer than any before."
Such a simple sentence carried profound meaning.
Their happiness comes not only from earning a steady income, but also from regaining confidence, becoming important contributors to their families, providing better educational opportunities for their children, and having a stronger voice in shaping their own futures.
When Hand Embroidery Brings Families Together
One of the most heartwarming moments came when several women shared, with great excitement, that they had started teaching their husbands how to embroider after work.
Perhaps in the near future, Babeeni's embroidery workshops will welcome even more unexpected teammates-husbands and fathers working alongside their wives to create handcrafted pieces filled with love, dedication, and the enduring spirit of Vietnamese craftsmanship.
This is no longer simply the story of learning a new profession. It is a story of families growing stronger together, of shared responsibility, and of an entire community rebuilding with resilience and hope.
