It's the best to use fragrance-free, dye-free detergent, sometimes called a "sensitive skin" detergent and skip bleaches, softeners, and stain removers for washing infant smocked clothing. Tide Free and Clear, and Method are all great detergent choices. Watch out for detergents with strong perfumes or bleach because they may irritate baby's delicate senses and skin.

Many parents see that it is very difficult to remove stains due to vomiting or smearing food on. They have used bleach to remove efficiently. However, it is a bad thing because bleaches will irritate the skin of the baby.  Bleaches not only enter the baby’s body but also excrete difficultly. Bleach, perfumes, and other washing agents found in detergent can be harsh on a baby's sensitive senses and skin.
